Students are spending more time than ever kick-starting their career online [infographic]August 22, 2016 2:49 pm
Our study of over 1,000 UK graduates revealed that on average University students are spending up to four hours a week, the equivalent of 208 hours a year, on activities to improve their employability. The economic climate out there is a frosty one and more students are realising they need to do more to stand out.
Considering this, it’s no surprise that creating an online home is now a popular way for graduates to demonstrate their skills and expertise. In order to bag their dream job, over 25% of students now create personal websites and a third use their LinkedIn profile.
The good news for students is that this is valuable time spent, with almost two-thirds (64%) of HR decision makers from UK businesses suggesting a personal website, rather than the traditional paper CV is likely to become the main way they differentiate between job candidates in the next five years.
