Rae is one of 20,000 volunteers at the Samaritans, who help provide the 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service to those who desperately need someone.
Samaritans gives free emotional support to anyone who is going through a difficult time across its 201 branches in the UK and Ireland.
We decided to speak to Rae about what motivated her to become a volunteer four years ago and the current channels of communication being used at Samaritans. We also discussed what impact the new online chat service will have for volunteers.
